A street-style speakeasy at the corner of culture and candlelight.
EST. AFTER MIDNIGHT RING TWICEDoors open at the unfashionable hour of 21:00. The bar runs four hours and not a minute longer. There is no menu — only a verbal exchange between you and the bartender that ends with something cold and well-considered in your hand.
The room holds twenty-eight. The room is loud at the right times and silent in unison at the wrong ones. You will leave knowing, at minimum, the first names of three strangers.
The lighting is provided exclusively by candles and the residual neon of a sign across the street. We replace the candles every forty minutes. We do not replace the neon — we trust the city to do that for us.
An unmarked door, three steps below the street, between a dry-cleaner and a record shop that closed in 2018. Knock politely. Wait.
