TANSO GROUP

We are a corporate group, in the loosest possible sense, made entirely of carbon. We have no headquarters. Our shareholders are leaves, lungs, and graphite pencils. We file no reports.

About the group

]

On paper, tanso.group is structured like a holding company: a parent entity (carbon) overseeing a portfolio of independent subsidiaries (allotropes), each with its own market, mood, and morning routine.

Off paper -- which is where the truth tends to live -- it is closer to a long-running family argument about geometry. Diamond insists on rigour. Graphite would prefer everyone calm down. Fullerene, our youngest, refuses to be opened.

From the boardroom

]

“I move that we, as a group, do less today. Not in the spirit of laziness, but in the spirit of not catalysing anything we will regret in eight thousand years.”

-- minutes, Q2 ordinary meeting, attended by no one

The motion was carried unanimously, by means of a wind moving through a corridor.

Our subsidiaries

]
  • Diamond, Ltd. Hardness specialists. Refuses to compress further. Beautiful in correspondence.
  • Graphite Holdings Lubrication, pencils, slow exits. Sheets that part on good terms.
  • Graphene PLC A single sentence, very flat. Thinner than your patience. Conducts everything.
  • Fullerene Co-op Hollow, hopeful. Sixty members, all named after a soccer ball.
  • Amorphous & Co. Charcoal, soot, lampblack. The unfilable departments. Unionised.
  • Carbyne Skunkworks Linear chains. Strictly experimental. Nobody returns our calls about it.

Our financial outlook for the next 4.5 billion years is broadly positive, contingent on the continued cooperation of stars, the patience of mountains, and roughly 21% atmospheric oxygen.

We expect modest growth in the polymer division and quiet, dignified retirement for some legacy peat assets. Diamond will remain Diamond.

What we will not do

]

We will not optimise.

We will not pivot. (We have, occasionally, rotated. There is a difference.)

We will not synergise. We will, on a good morning, arrange ourselves.

We will not disrupt. We have a quiet, billion-year-long policy of arriving on time.

We will not provide a quarterly forecast. We will provide a leaf.
