About the Club

Welcome to Tanso Club, where the element of life becomes the element of community. We are a collective of chemists, artists, thinkers, and dreamers united by our fascination with carbon — the backbone of organic chemistry and the building block of everything we love.

Our club exists at the intersection of rigorous science and playful wonder. We gather to discuss allotropes, build molecular models that would make Kekulé proud, and celebrate the extraordinary versatility of element number six.

Carbon Allotropes

Diamond

Each carbon atom bonded to four others in a rigid tetrahedral lattice. Transparent, brilliant, and the hardest natural material on Earth. Diamond is carbon at its most organized — an architectural masterpiece at the atomic scale.

C (sp³ hybridization)

Graphene

A single layer of carbon atoms arranged in a hexagonal lattice — just one atom thick, yet stronger than steel. Graphene conducts electricity beautifully and bends without breaking. It is the future, peeled from a pencil.

Club Activities

Every month, we gather for molecule building sessions, where members construct oversized molecular models from inflatable kits. Our reading circles explore the latest in carbon nanotechnology research, while our art workshops transform molecular structures into visual poetry.

Molecule Mondays

Weekly model-building sessions where we construct everything from methane to buckminsterfullerene. All skill levels welcome — no prior bonding experience required.

Fullerene Fridays

Casual social gatherings themed around a different carbon allotrope each week. Expect talks, debates, demonstrations, and plenty of carbon-based refreshments.
