PR-01 in bloom

Specimen 01: Aurora vitrum

a glass-petaled prototype that refracts every iteration through its own history

Cultivated under low-pressure neon, Aurora vitrum rejects the mild hothouse routine. Its petals are not soft — they are annealed glass, fractured along the lines of every previous prototype that failed to bloom. The plant remembers what it abandoned.

In the field, the specimen pulses pink under UV. We have not yet determined whether the pulsing is photosynthetic, decorative, or a warning.

PR-02 aggressive growth

Specimen 02: Lithium velum

a vine that will not stop — it overruns the trellis, then the greenhouse, then the report

Lithium velum is the prototype that refused containment. We staked it in cell 04. By the second week, it had vaulted the cell wall. By the fourth, the vine had threaded itself through the irrigation, the lighting rig, and a junior researcher's notebook.

We no longer prune Lithium velum. We document it.

condensation cycle — light refracts, prototypes recombine

PR-03 submerged

Specimen 03: Caustica refractus

a prototype that only blooms underwater, where the dopamine refuses to settle

Caustica refractus lives in the flooded chamber. Its petals release small refraction bubbles — spherical lenses that drift upward and split the greenhouse light into stripes of pink, lime, gold.

Researchers report that staring at the bubble field for more than 90 seconds produces an aftertaste of summer. We have not yet decided whether this is a feature.
