Welcome to the Bar

Step through the unmarked door. The brass handle is warm to the touch. Inside, amber light pools on dark mahogany surfaces, and the murmur of conversation wraps around you like velvet. This is Monopole -- a place where time folds, where the twenties never ended, where every glass holds a story and every corner hides a secret.

We serve those who appreciate the finer things -- not merely luxury, but craft, intention, the quiet pleasure of something done well. Our spirits are selected with care, our cocktails mixed with precision, and our company curated with discretion.

The Spirits

Kentucky's Finest

Bourbon Selection

Our bourbon collection spans from small-batch Kentucky straight to rare single-barrel expressions. Each bottle is chosen for its complexity -- notes of caramel, toasted oak, and vanilla that unfold slowly, like a good conversation. We pour generously and judge quietly.

Scotch

Highland & Islay

Scotch Selection

From the peated depths of Islay to the honeyed warmth of the Highlands, our scotch collection rewards the patient drinker. Smoky, complex, layered -- these are spirits that demand attention and reward it with revelation. Ask the barkeep for the dusty bottles behind the curtain.

Gin Selection

Our gin selection celebrates the botanical arts -- juniper, citrus, lavender, and rarer botanicals that perfume the air like incense in a cathedral. London dry, old tom, navy strength -- each style has its devotees, and we serve them all with equal reverence and a knowing smile.

Cocktails

The Monopole

Signature

Rye whiskey, sweet vermouth, a dash of Benedictine, and two dashes of Peychaud's bitters. Stirred over a single hand-cut ice cube, garnished with a flamed orange peel. The house drink -- the one that started it all.

Smoky Sidecar

Classic

Cognac, orange liqueur, fresh lemon juice -- the holy trinity shaken until frost forms, then poured through a fine mesh into a coupe with a sugar rim. We add a whisper of mezcal for depth. It changes everything.

Velvet Underground

House Special

Gin, elderflower liqueur, blackberry shrub, egg white, and a few drops of absinthe. Dry-shaken, then wet-shaken, then double-strained into a chilled Nick and Nora glass. The foam is silk. The color is midnight.

Amber Hour

Seasonal

Aged rum, allspice dram, lime, ginger syrup, and a float of dark rum. Built in a copper mug with crushed ice, crowned with candied ginger and a cinnamon stick. Close your eyes and you're on a veranda in Havana, 1927.

The Lounge

The lounge occupies the back room -- past the bar, through the beaded curtain, where the light dims further and the music shifts to something slower. Leather banquettes line the walls. The ceiling is pressed tin, catching reflections from candles set in Art Deco sconces.

This is where the long conversations happen. Where deals are made over a third drink. Where strangers become confidants and the night stretches into something timeless. No phones at the table, please. Some things are better left unrecorded.

Tonight's Word

The password changes at sundown. It arrives by messenger, whispered at the right ear, written on the inside of a matchbook. If you have to ask how to get it, you're not ready. But if you've found your way here... perhaps you already know.

What Lies Beyond

Third shelf from the bottom, fourth book from the left. Pull it toward you. The latch releases with a satisfying click, and the shelf swings open. Inside: a room that doesn't exist on any blueprint. What happens there stays there.

Ask the Right Questions

The barkeep has been here since the beginning -- or at least, no one remembers a time before. They know your drink before you order it. They remember your name after one visit. They keep secrets like a vault. Tip well, and they might share one of theirs.
