Rather than destroy the unit, the manufacturer enrolled it in their certified refurbishment program, where it was disassembled, inspected, and rebuilt to factory specification.
The headphones arrive in minimalist recycled cardboard packaging with a cloth carry pouch (also recycled material). New ear pads, a new battery, and a fresh headband cushion have been installed. The active noise cancellation performs identically to a new unit in our testing. Bluetooth pairing was instant. Battery life measured at 28 hours, exceeding the rated 26.
