POLITICAL PUZZLE

Dig through the layers of how systems are built.

DESCEND
LAYER I PRESENT

Governance Systems

The visible layer: elections, legislatures, executive orders. The puzzle pieces the public can see.

Modern governance is a lattice of overlapping jurisdictions, committees, and procedural rules. Every law passed is a puzzle piece that interlocks with thousands of others. Understanding any single piece requires understanding its neighbors.

LAYER II MODERN ERA

Institutional Bedrock

Courts, constitutions, regulatory bodies. The hidden infrastructure beneath everyday politics.

Institutions are the slow-moving tectonic plates of political life. They were formed under pressures that no longer exist, yet they shape every surface event. The political puzzle cannot be solved without understanding these foundational structures.

LAYER III ENLIGHTENMENT

Political Philosophy

Social contracts, natural rights, the consent of the governed. The ideas that became load-bearing walls.

Every political system rests on philosophical assumptions -- about human nature, about justice, about the proper scope of authority. These assumptions are the deepest stratum. To puzzle through politics is to eventually arrive here, at the bedrock of belief.

The Unanswered Questions

Who should govern? What legitimacy means? How power should be distributed? The puzzle has no final solution -- only deeper layers.
