begin your descent
You carry your own light down here. That is the first thing to understand. The depths do not provide illumination -- they test whether you brought your own. Most who descend forget this. You have not.
Direction is a luxury of the surface. Down here, there is only pressure and patience. The current knows where it goes. You need only decide whether to follow it or resist. Both choices are correct.
You want to know what lies at the bottom. Everyone does. I will tell you this: the bottom is not a place. It is a state of having stopped asking where the bottom is. When you no longer need to descend, you have arrived.
Silence is the oldest language.
You carried the light all the way down and all the way back. The quest was never about what you found. It was about the fact that you moved through the dark and the dark moved through you, and neither was diminished.
