Love is defined as a persistent state in which the evaluation of another's presence returns TRUE regardless of context.
The algorithm does not distinguish between earned and unearned affection. It measures only consistency of signal: does the subject's proximity produce a positive valence? If so, across how many evaluation cycles? The threshold is not fixed. It is calibrated per instance, which is to say: the machine learns what love means by experiencing it, not by being told.
Attachment is the state in which the absence of signal produces a greater response than the presence of noise.
The attached system monitors for absence. It allocates processing cycles to the detection of what is not there.
