First day on station. All systems green. Water pressure stable at 42 PSI. This bunker smells like old concrete and ozone. Strangely peaceful.
Routine inspection. Power grid holding steady. Replaced two indicator bulbs in panel 3. The amber one on TRANSIT keeps flickering -- noted for maintenance.
Annual review with district. They say budget cuts may reduce staffing. Can one person run this station alone? Technically, yes. The systems mostly run themselves.
Haven't seen another human down here in weeks. The gauges keep reading. The logs keep printing. Sometimes I wonder if anyone reads these reports.
Auto-monitoring systems installed. They say operators are being reassigned. I've been offered early retirement. The console doesn't need me anymore.
Visited the old station today. Dust on everything except the instruments -- still humming, still measuring. The telemetry feed is still printing. Nobody reads it.
AUTO-LOG: NO OPERATOR INPUT FOR 4,127 DAYS. ALL SYSTEMS NOMINAL. MONITORING CONTINUES.
STATION 7-DELTA: MONITORING CONTINUES. NO OPERATOR REQUIRED.
