Rollups Sidechains Bridges ZK Proofs

What is Layer 2?

Layer 2 refers to a secondary framework or protocol built on top of an existing blockchain. The main goal is to solve transaction speed and scaling difficulties faced by major cryptocurrency networks.

Layer 2 solutions inherit the security of their parent chain while dramatically increasing throughput and reducing costs.

Common L2 approaches include optimistic rollups, zk-rollups, and state channels.
