i

Continuity is not the absence of change

It is the persistence of identity through change. A river is continuous not because it is still, but because it flows. What remains when everything transforms is the thread of connection itself.

ii

The present is continuous with the past

Memory is the mechanism of continuity in conscious experience. Without it, each moment would be isolated, disconnected, without context. We are continuous beings because we remember, and we remember because we are continuous.

iii

Between any two points

There exists an infinite number of intermediate states. This is the mathematical definition. But it is also a philosophical one: experience is dense. Between any two feelings, there are gradations we cannot name but can sense.

iv

Discontinuity is an illusion of resolution

What appears as a break is simply a transition too fine for our instruments. Zoom in far enough and every edge becomes a gradient. Every boundary becomes a zone of blending.

Everything continues.

The continuist holds that endings are local, not global. What ceases in one frame persists in another. The energy is conserved. The pattern propagates. The signal continues beyond the edge of perception.
