矛盾 (mujun): A contradiction. From the Chinese parable of a merchant who sells both an impenetrable shield and an all-piercing spear. When asked what happens when the spear strikes the shield, the merchant has no answer.
if (spear.pierces(everything)) {
if (shield.blocks(everything)) {
// ???
throw new ContradictionError();
}
}
矛 (mao/mu) = spear, halberd. 盾 (dun/jun) = shield. Together: 矛盾 = the impossible coexistence of absolute attack and absolute defense.
In philosophy: the limits of logical systems. In language: the self-referential paradox. In design: the tension between order and chaos. In life: everything.

ERROR: Cannot resolve contradiction. This is not a bug. This is the feature.
The wiki format promises order. It promises that knowledge can be categorized, cross-referenced, and contained. Mujun resists containment. The contradiction between the container and the uncontainable IS the knowledge.
The encyclopedia of contradiction has no final entry. Every definition contains its own refutation. Every category dissolves under examination. The wiki is always incomplete, always contradicting itself, always rewriting. This is not failure. This is mujun.
