MECHANIC

SVC::LOG_001

The machine does not ask to be understood. It asks to be maintained. There is a difference -- understanding implies standing outside, looking in. Maintenance requires you to be elbow-deep, feeling the resistance of every bolt that does not want to turn.

SVC::LOG_002

Every engine has a language. Not metaphorically -- literally. The knock, the whine, the rhythm of combustion cycles. A mechanic who cannot hear is not a mechanic. A mechanic who does not listen is worse.

SVC::LOG_003

Parts do not fail. They reach the end of their tolerance. The distinction matters. Failure implies blame. Tolerance implies engineering -- every material has a limit, and the mechanic's job is to know where that limit lives.

SVC::LOG_004

The oldest machines are the most honest. No computer to hide behind, no sensor to lie about what the oil looks like. Just metal, heat, pressure, and time.
