vol.04 edition / in motion

we build leaning forward.

lunge.dev is a small developer atelier for teams who refuse to coast. We design momentum into systems — interfaces, infrastructure, and the protocols that hold them together.

§ 01

a small manifest, written while standing

  1. 01

    Posture is policy.

Codebases inherit the body language of their authors. Leaning back yields legacy. We choose architecture that points somewhere on purpose.

  2. 02

    Specifications, not slogans.

Every feature begins with a written contract. If it cannot be described without an adjective, it is not yet a feature.

  3. 03

    Drag is a measurement.

We track friction the way other shops track usage. Every pull request ends with the question: did this make tomorrow lighter?

  4. 04

    No marketing voice.

We read documentation back to ourselves. If it sounds embarrassing, the API is wrong, not the prose.

  5. 05

    Forward, then steady.

Momentum without rhythm is a stumble. We pair every push with a quiet week of polishing the floor we just crossed.

§ 02

the stride

a four-phase loop, repeated until something is alive.

plant

days 1 – 4

We sit with your team, write down what is unsaid, and produce one document no one has time to write themselves.

push

days 5 – 18

Implementation in branches small enough to read in one sitting. Daily builds. Weekly call. Nothing shipped without a spec under it.

land

days 19 – 22

We hand work over with diagrams, a runbook, and a list of the assumptions we made you out loud, in writing.

repeat

forever, optional

Most clients keep us on a slow retainer for the things that should not be rushed: schema migrations, observability, reading older code aloud.
