Tank 04, Late Afternoon
The light comes in obliquely now, breaking against the rear wall of the tank into pale ribbons. The clownfish has not moved from the anemone in nineteen minutes. Outside the glass, the reception desk is empty. Inside the glass, everything is exactly where it should be — including the second clownfish, which is sleeping above the anemone in a posture that the field guide does not document but which we have come to recognize as resting upright.
