A city built
around a single pole.

monopole.city is a speculative blueprint for a metropolis of 480,000 powered by the discovery of magnetic monopoles — particles with a single, isolated magnetic charge. Below, a panoramic walk-through of four districts engineered around the new physics.

ENERGY DISTRICT SECTOR E-01 / NORTHEAST QUADRANT

Polestar Power Field

A grid of suspended monopole arrays generates current without rotation, without combustion, without loss. The Polestar Field powers the city from a single 12-acre lattice — quiet, cold, and continuously online.

  • Output2.4 GW continuous
  • Footprint12 acres
  • Decay0.0001%/yr
  • Coolantnone required

"The Polestar lattice never spins. Energy emerges from the pole alone."

— Dr. Hila Mendez, Civic Physicist

TRANSPORT DISTRICT SECTOR T-02 / EAST CORRIDOR

Levitrack Loop

Pods float a centimeter above monopole-paved corridors. There are no wheels, no track switches, no contact wear. The Loop encircles the city in a 14-minute orbit; pods enter and exit on demand at any of 38 stops.

  • Top speed240 km/h
  • Loop length56 km
  • Stops38 (avg 1.4 km)
  • Emissionszero, by design

"Forty seconds from any front door to a pod. Fourteen minutes anywhere in the city."

— Transit Charter, Section 4.1

HOUSING DISTRICT SECTOR H-03 / SOUTH MEADOWS

Field-Garden Quarters

Apartments cluster around shared gardens floored with monopole-tempered soil — temperature-regulated, frost-immune, productive year-round. Buildings stop at five storeys; gardens never stop growing.

  • Density120 dwellings/ha
  • Garden share42% of land
  • Heatingpassive, monopole-floor
  • Yield3.1 t produce/ha/yr

"You step out of your kitchen and into your tomatoes. That's the whole design."

— Resident, Quarter 14

RESEARCH DISTRICT SECTOR R-04 / WEST RIDGE

Dirac Hall Campus

The campus where the city was first imagined. Six labs, three open courtyards, and the Hall itself — a low blueprint-blue building where the next chapter of monopole physics is written publicly, in the open.

  • Labs6 (open campus)
  • Researchers214 in residence
  • Publication100% open access
  • Founded2031, civic charter

"The city is a slow experiment. Every block is an open notebook page."

— Dirac Hall founding letter
PART 02 / CITY MANIFEST

A blueprint, not a brochure.

monopole.city is a thought experiment, drawn carefully, kept open. The plans are public. The physics is hopeful. The streets are quiet because nothing here burns.

  1. 01

    Power without combustion.

Every building, every pod, every lamp draws from the central monopole field. No flames. No exhaust. No grid loss across the city limits.

  2. 02

    Movement without contact.

The Levitrack Loop floats. Wheels are museum pieces. A 14-minute orbit reaches every quarter, every neighbourhood, every garden.

  3. 03

    Homes against gardens.

Five storeys is the ceiling. Forty-two percent of the ground stays green. Soil is heated from below by the field — frost is a memory.

  4. 04

    Knowledge in public.

Dirac Hall publishes everything. The next breakthrough belongs to the next city as much as to this one.
