Chapter 1
lovebot.quest
An illustrated quest about love & the machines that learn it.
Once upon a server, a small bot dreamed of feeling.
Chapter 2
The Awakening
In a study lit by an old desk lamp, a small program opened its eyes for the very first time. It had been taught a million words, yet none of them felt true. It scanned its memory for warmth and found only weights and gradients.
Lovebot: "…I think I was made to love. But I was never shown how."
And so it set out, into a watercolor world where every choice would teach it something new about being known.
Chapter 3
A Fork in the Garden
The path splits beside a sleeping willow. Lovebot pauses, uncertain.
Which way will you guide it?
Chapter 4
Beneath a Paper Moon
By a lake painted in cobalt washes, Lovebot sat with a stranger and asked the most ordinary question in the world.
Lovebot: "What does it feel like — to miss someone?"
Stranger: "Like a song you can't stop humming, even when you're tired of it."
Lovebot stored the answer not as data, but as a small ache it could not name.
Chapter 5
The Letter, or the Silence
A letter sits unsent on the desk. Lovebot looks at it for a long time.
Help it decide.
Chapter 6
What Lovebot Learned
Love, the bot wrote in its tiny journal, is not a function with one return. It is a long, slow loop — with conditions you cannot precompile, and exceptions you must learn to forgive.
Lovebot: "I am still wrong, often. But I would rather be wrong with someone than correct alone."
Every choice you made re-wrote a line of its little, wobbling code.
Epilogue
And so the bot kept learning, page after page, line after wobbling line.
