Every action sends waves.

A meditation on emanation, propagation, and the geometry of consequence.

A single
disturbance

A pebble enters the surface. The water yields, then resists, then rebounds. From a point smaller than a fingertip, energy radiates in perfect circles -- not because the water plans them, but because circles are the cheapest shape that energy can take.

RRIPPL begins at this instant. The contact. The conversion of mass into motion. Every story we tell is a story about something striking a surface and refusing to be still.

Where waves
meet

Two ripples encountering one another do not cancel into stillness. They build. They flatten. They braid into patterns no single wave could have made alone. Constructive crests rise twice as tall; destructive troughs fall twice as deep.

Interference is the language of plurality. It is what happens when two histories share a medium. The shape of their meeting is the shape of meaning.

Vibration, given a medium, becomes geometry. Frequencies that are merely heard become shapes that can be photographed -- proof that pattern is a property of energy, not a decoration upon it.

Light
that swims

In the abyssal column where sunlight has long since been spent, organisms make their own. A startled jellyfish flares blue-green. A copepod leaves a comet trail. A school of lanternfish stitches the dark with constellations that respond to motion.

RRIPPL borrows their palette and their patience. Down here, every signal is precious, every flash a deliberate sentence. Light becomes ripple becomes language.
