The Conversation

The Reiwa era began with rain. We opened a few months later, quietly, with a small wooden sign and one chair fewer than we needed. We did not advertise. People found us anyway.

A bar, we believe, is not made of bottles or stools or polished wood. It is made of the silence between sentences, the weight of a cup placed back down, the moment a listener decides to stay one drink longer.

令和 means beautiful harmony — a name borrowed from a thousand- year-old poem about plum blossoms in early spring. We took it not as a manifesto but as a quiet promise.

The promise is this: nothing here will rush you. Not the music, which is barely there. Not the menu, which is brief. Not the pour, which is measured by the ear of the listener as much as the eye of the maker.
