paragram
A precise instrument for engineers who think in diagrams.
An idea is a paragram only when it survives the act of being precisely stated.
paragram is a development environment built on the conviction that clarity is a feature, not a finishing touch. We hold that the first draft of a system is rarely the system itself; it is a sketch of the question the system intends to answer.
Where most tools optimize for output, paragram optimizes for the moment a thought becomes legible to its author. The keyboard, the grid, the cursor: each is calibrated for that small, important transition.
Method as a quiet form of insistence.
paragram works in three motions. Frame the problem in its narrowest legible form. Render the solution as a single continuous artifact. Reduce until further reduction would remove meaning.
No gradients between phases. No buttons that pretend a system is more friendly than it is. The interface defers to the work; the work defers to the reader.
Restraint, legibility, intent.
We prefer fewer features finished to many features begun. We prefer a neutral page that frames the idea to a colorful page that competes with it. We prefer a tool that disappears in use to a tool that announces itself.
paragram does not attempt to be exciting. It attempts to be the room in which excitement becomes thinkable.
