SPECIMEN LOG — FIELD NOTES
2026-04-28
The trail was still icy above 4,000 feet. Found a patch of glacier lilies pushing through last year's matted leaves, entirely golden.
2026-04-19
Rain all morning but the clouds parted for exactly eleven minutes around dusk. The light on the far ridge was the color of old copper.
2026-04-11
First overnight of the season. The stars above the treeline were clearer than I remembered. Frost on the tent by 3 AM, no wind.
