IV Coda

Quiet fields, clear lines.

A studio practice at the seam where enterprise precision meets the unhurried weather of the countryside. We design systems that breathe like landscapes.

est. 2022 Utrecht & remote 04 practitioners

We build software the way a farmer plants a hedgerow.

Slowly, deliberately, with a long memory for what grew here last season. Our work is enterprise by discipline and pastoral by temperament — structured enough to scale, soft enough to live with for years.

  • Design systems with quiet authority
  • Interfaces that age like linen
  • Documentation written in full sentences
  • Research grounded in field notes, not decks

A slow atlas of the work we keep returning to.

01

Koenen Granary

A token-first design system for a 140-year-old agricultural cooperative. Three subsystems, 612 components, documented in both Dutch and plain English.

02

Vermeer Ledger

Internal treasury platform reimagined around the painter's light — long vertical columns, single focal tables, margins wide enough to breathe between numbers.

03

Ruysdael Analytics

A reporting suite whose dashboards were composed like landscape paintings — foreground, middle, and distance — so that scale and anomaly could be read at a glance.

If your work lives at the seam of fields and formulas, we would like to hear from you.

Letters are answered on Fridays, in the order they arrive. We read each one aloud at least once before we reply.
