EST. MMXXVI · A PRIVATE CORRESPONDENCE BUREAU

ADDR·proxy

Your address. Your terms.

A concierge of coordinates — masking, routing, and virtualizing the place where paper meets person.

01 The Premise

New York · 40.7484° N · 73.9857° W

An address, reconsidered — as an instrument, not a location.

For as long as there has been correspondence, there has been the address — a string of letters and numerals that quietly announces, to anyone curious enough to inspect the envelope, precisely where a person begins and ends their day.

addrproxy is a bureau built around a simple premise: that this fact should no longer be inevitable. We provide virtualized postal identities, masking routes, and routed residencies for travelers, editors, founders, and any correspondent who requires the dignity of a forwarding address without its disclosures.

Our desks receive, our couriers carry, our ledger remembers — yet the line that connects your name to a particular doorway does not appear in any public register. The envelope arrives. The house, meanwhile, remains quietly unlisted.

Consider this page, then, an envelope. What follows is addressed to you — and to no one else.

02 The Service

London · 51.5074° N · 0.1278° W

A directory of quiet doorways, discreetly tended.

Each member is assigned a correspondence suite — a real doorway in a real city, staffed by clerks who know your preferences the way a tailor remembers a shoulder.

Parcels arrive under the name you elect. They are photographed upon receipt, annotated in our ledger, and forwarded to your current coordinate — by courier, bonded carrier, or a trusted human, according to your standing instructions. No algorithm opens your envelope. No third party knows where it continued onward.

  1. i. A registered suite in any of our eighteen affiliate cities — complete with a formatted postal line suitable for contracts, bank filings, and correspondence of a delicate nature.
  2. ii. A routing ledger kept in triplicate — one to the clerk, one to the safe, one to the member. Entries are written by hand and signed.
  3. iii. A courier on retainer for onward dispatch — by same-day within the city, by bonded carrier to any coordinate on the globe, by diplomatic pouch upon request.
  4. iv. A standing audience with a dedicated concierge — available by telephone in the usual hours, or by private line at any hour, for members of the House tier.
03 The Cities

Paris · 48.8566° N · 2.3522° E

A gazetteer of affiliate desks, maintained across three continents.

The bureau operates from eighteen staffed desks — each chosen for its postal dignity, its civic quietude, and its proximity to reliable couriers. A member may correspond from any of them; a member may correspond from all of them.

04 The Practice

Tokyo · 35.6804° N · 139.7690° E

A craft of quiet routing — three motions, rehearsed daily.

i.

Receive

Every envelope is met at the desk by a named clerk. It is logged in the house hand, weighed, and set in the day's correspondence tray. Delicate items are placed behind glass until collection instructions arrive.

ii.

Route

Your standing instructions — hand-filed, dated, signed — determine the onward journey. Courier, carrier, diplomatic pouch, or private pickup: the bureau selects the vessel most faithful to your intent, and to the weather of the hour.

iii.

Forget

Once delivered, the ledger entry is annotated fulfilled and closed. The paper trail is archived; the digital trail is erased; the clerk's memory, being human, quietly dims of its own accord.

There is, in truth, little else to say. The art of an address-proxy is the art of leaving no unnecessary sentence behind. Our prose, like our ledger, prefers brevity.

05 The Ledger

Dubai · 25.2048° N · 55.2708° E

Three grades of membership — each a standing invitation.

Correspondent single desk

A single registered suite in the city of your choosing, with weekly onward forwarding and standing courier service. Suitable for the traveler of a single climate — the editor who returns always to the same study.

Atelier three desks

Three coordinated desks across continents, bonded courier between them, and a named concierge retained for your correspondence. Suitable for the founder, the editor-in-motion, the pianist on a long tour of provincial halls.

House full gazetteer

The full gazetteer, a private line at any hour, and custody of sealed items in a bonded safe. By invitation only — extended after a meeting, never after a form. Those who need it tend to know of us before we know of them.
