A framework
slightly off-axis.
The paradigm corrodes.

The Erosion

Every paradigm begins as a clean surface — chrome-bright, reflecting the world with precision. The framework promises clarity. It organizes knowledge into rows and columns, names the unnamed, draws borders around the borderless.

But the surface was never sealed. Air finds the micro-fractures. Moisture condenses in the gaps between categories. What was chrome becomes patina. The paradigm doesn't fail — it weathers. It acquires the texture of everything it tried to exclude.

Testa

The outer protective layer. In paradigms, this is the public-facing framework — the terminology, the conference talks, the textbook diagrams. It oxidizes first.

Endosperm

The nourishing tissue surrounding the embryo. The accumulated data, the case studies, the institutional knowledge that feeds the paradigm's growth even as the outer shell corrodes.

Embryo

The irreducible core. The single insight that survives every erosion cycle. When the paradigm finally splits open, this is what germinates into the next framework.

What remains after the paradigm erodes is not nothing — it is the seed of the next one.
