JAMO SPECIMENS
CONSTRUCTION GEOMETRY
Consonant Origins
Each consonant maps to a position of the tongue, lips, or throat during articulation. King Sejong designed the basic shapes to mirror the speech organs themselves.
Vowel Philosophy
Vowels are built from three elements representing Heaven (dot/short stroke), Earth (horizontal line), and Human (vertical line) — the neo-Confucian triad.
SYLLABLE BLOCKS
Each syllable block is a self-contained geometric composition — initial consonant, medial vowel, and optional final consonant arranged within an invisible square frame.
