PPEBBL — a masterclass in accumulation
LESSON · 01 / 06

THE FIRST
PEBBLE

You begin with nothing. Then: one stone. A silent, golden ellipse turning in the void — patient, deliberate, alone. It has no meaning yet. Neither does the next one.

Every monument, every cairn, every mountain of consequence starts exactly here. With a single pebble you almost discarded.

> init( pebble[0] );  mass = 1.0g;  radius = 12mm;  finish = gold_leaf;

ACCUMULATE

Now: move your cursor. Every gesture leaves a pebble behind — randomized size, rotation, hue. Each one slightly different, each one undeniably yours.

You are no longer a viewer. You are the one who gathers.

> onMouseMove → spawn( rand(8..40px), rand(0..2π), goldShade() );

THE PILE

Gravity takes its cut. Each stone drops, tumbles, finds a neighbor, settles. What was scattered begins to lean — to support — to compose.

This is the first emergence: order wrung from randomness by nothing more than patience and weight.

> apply( gravity = 9.8 );  collide( siblings );  settle( cairn );

LESSON · 04 / 06

THE MOSAIC

Pull back. The individual stones vanish into pattern. What you made one gesture at a time resolves — suddenly, at scale — into a Warholian grid: the same river, sixteen colors, one idea.

Accumulation becomes composition. Composition becomes identity.

> tessellate( 4 × 4 );  palette = [gold, red, blue, yellow];

THE
MONUMENT

A single pebble is nothing. A thousand is an interesting mess. A million, stacked with intent, is a cathedral of stones.

You did not start out trying to build a monument. You just did not stop.

> stack( layers = 40, count = 600 );  integrity = structural;

DISSOLUTION

Every monument erodes. Every pile, eventually, is sand. The pebbles scatter — carried off by rivers of attention, wind of circumstance, the plain passage of time.

What remains is not the monument. What remains is that you knew how to build one.

> total_stones = 0;  legacy = persistent;  restart( );
