A merchant in the state of Chu held up a spear and declared to the crowd: this spear is so sharp it can pierce through any shield in existence. No material can resist its point. No defense can withstand its thrust.

The Immovable Shield

Then the same merchant raised a shield and proclaimed: this shield is so strong it can block any spear ever forged. No weapon can break through its surface. No force can overcome its resistance.
