A frozen archive of digital permissions.
Preserved in crystalline amber, the perpetual license exists outside temporal decay. Once granted, it remains frozen in its original state — immune to version drift, impervious to subscription entropy. Like a beetle trapped in Baltic amber, its permissions are fixed at the moment of preservation, unchanging across millennia of platform evolution.
PRESERVATION_STATUS: ETERNALThe subscription license is a living organism within our collection — it breathes, it metabolizes monthly payments, it sheds its permissions at the end of each billing cycle only to regrow them upon renewal. Found in the warmest drawer of the cabinet, these specimens require constant thermal regulation. Remove the payment stream, and they enter cryogenic dormancy.
PRESERVATION_STATUS: ACTIVE_CYCLEUnlike contained specimens, the open source license is a mycelial network — it spreads beneath the surface, connecting disparate projects through shared root systems of code and permission. No single cabinet can hold it. It grows through walls, through classification systems, through the very shelves we use to organize the other specimens. Its genus is “freedom,” and its phylum is “copyleft.”
