A soft machine for conversations that haven't happened yet.
Every conversation is a signal passing through a medium. gabs.cx is that medium -- a viscous, candy-colored substrate where messages form as bubbles, rise through layers of meaning, and pop at the surface of understanding. The pop is the moment of comprehension.
Wave patterns in the substrate.
The interface is not a window. It is a membrane. Information passes through it in both directions, distorted by the medium, enriched by the crossing. What you see on gabs.cx is not data displayed -- it is data dissolved, suspended in a solution of color and motion, ready to precipitate into meaning at the moment of attention.
Hard machines compute with switches. Soft machines compute with gradients. gabs.cx does not process binary decisions. It holds things in suspension, lets them interact through proximity and surface tension, and allows the answer to emerge from the chemistry of contact. The bubble that rises fastest is the one that mattered most.
The conversation continues below the surface. Every bubble carries a fragment. Every pop releases a thought. gabs.cx does not end. It dissolves.
