FIELD REPORTS
A gathering of seventy persons convened at the eastern annex on a Thursday. The lights were warm and the temperature was steady. Within forty minutes, the room had split into two unequal halves along a fracture that no participant could name aloud. Field instruments registered the divide as a sudden 0.4°C cool shift on the dais side and a corresponding heat-rise of 1.1°C on the gallery side. Bodies moved before language did.
The interview lasted ninety-six minutes. The interviewee answered every question with extraordinary precision and offered no recollection of the event. We left with a verbatim record of an absence. This is the most truthful record we have collected this year.
An assembly of thirteen elders dissolved without anger and without conclusion. Each rose at a different moment. No declaration was made. Three days later, none could be located. The minutes record only the times of departure: 19:04, 19:11, 19:11, 19:18, 19:22, 19:22, 19:24, 19:31, 19:31, 19:42, 19:44, 19:51, 20:03.
The same incident produced fourteen accounts. Twelve agreed on the hour. Three agreed on the cause. None agreed on what was said. The witness-wall therefore preserves all fourteen, in the order they were given, with no reconciliation attempted.
