Chapter One: The Beginning
Every project starts with curiosity. We began recycle.studio as a meditation on design history, collecting fragments of digital culture from the turn of the millennium.
The Y2K aesthetic wasn't about nostalgia --- it was about optimism. Plasma gradients, chrome surfaces, and bubble shapes represented a belief that technology would make the world more beautiful. We're rebuilding that vision, but with sustainability at its core.
Chapter Two: The Process
Our workflow combines archival research with digital restoration. We scan old design files, extract color palettes, and rebuild interfaces using modern techniques.
Each animation is hand-crafted. Each gradient is carefully tuned. The handwritten marginalia you see isn't artificial --- it's genuine annotations from the original designers, preserved as a reminder that machines serve human creativity.
