what is nonri?
A daily practice of logic rendered through the lens of raw documentation. Nonri (논리) means logic in Korean. But here, the logic is messy, unpolished, real. Each day a new entry tumbles down the thread.
logic meets journaling at the margin of night
A daily practice of logic rendered through the lens of raw documentation. Nonri (논리) means logic in Korean. But here, the logic is messy, unpolished, real. Each day a new entry tumbles down the thread.
A single line runs down the center of everything. Entries hang from it at irregular intervals, appearing left then right then left again, as if pinned to a clothesline by someone who didn't measure twice.
Headers appear in Caveat, a handwriting font that looks like someone scribbled urgently on the page. Clean body text in Inter keeps the words readable. The contrast between messy and neat mirrors the central tension: chaos and order, simultaneous.
Each entry carries a small illustration in the margins—the kind you'd find scribbled in a notebook's edges. Interlocking circles, incomplete triangles, lines that trail off into nowhere. Drawn in single-weight line style, 40% opacity, slightly behind the text as if the sketch came first and the words later.
The colors are muted: soft greys (#F0F2F8, #E8ECF4), deep indigos (#3D3F52, #4A4E6A), and dusty rose tones (#D4A0A0, #C7A87C). These are colors that whisper rather than shout. No bright primaries. The neubrutalism lies in the structure, not the color.
No polish, no corporate smoothness. Visible structure, exposed seams, hand-torn edges rendered in CSS and SVG. The design doesn't hide its mechanism—the thread is always visible, the nodes are blocks you can see assembled, the illustrations are unfinished sketches.
There's no navigation menu. No buttons. No CTAs or pricing blocks. The entire experience is scrolling—watching entries reveal themselves as they approach the center thread, each one hanging at a slightly different vertical position, creating the illusion of a living timeline.
This is the aesthetic of someone who discovered something at three in the morning and had to document it before sleep. The page looks hastily assembled, urgently composed, authentic in its rawness. No second drafts here.
As you scroll, entries fade in. The thread animates from the top downward at page load. Hover over any entry and its illustration grows slightly, the opacity shifts, suggesting interactivity beneath the surface. The experience unfolds gradually, never rushing.
nonri.day invites you to begin your own practice. Document your logic daily. Pin your thoughts to the thread. Let them appear rough, unpolished, real. This is a site for thinking in public, without apology.
