Body Typography
EB Garamond provides the definitive digital revival of Claude Garamond's original 16th-century typeface. With authentic Renaissance proportions and beautiful old-style figures, it achieves a line-height of 1.85 for maximum readability and an airy, bookish rhythm that echoes through the entire composition.
Accent Typography
Noto Sans JP in weights 300 and 500 provides crisp contrast against ornate serifs while maintaining Japanese character support. Used for Japanese text elements, navigation labels, metadata, and small annotations throughout the design.
Color Palette
The palette is overwhelmingly cool-gray, with warmth introduced only through Gaslight Amber and Candlelight tones—used sparingly as Victorian gas-lamp accents within the silver-gray environment. This creates a world that feels like a silver gelatin print with occasional flashes of candlelight.
Imagery and Motifs
The defining visual element is a generative bokeh field occupying the full viewport background, parallaxing slowly against foreground content.
