Excavations in permanence

The medium is raw structure

Every surface carries the tactile memory of compacted earth, hand-mixed mortar, and stone fractured along its natural grain. This is not nostalgic; it is confrontational. The site does not romanticize the past -- it presents it with the blunt honesty of exposed rebar and unfinished aggregate.

Sealed chambers

The scroll experience should feel like moving through the cross-section of a tell -- an archaeological mound -- layer by layer, each stratum distinct. Each section is a self-contained visual environment: its own room with its own ground color, its own typographic scale, its own geometric marking.

Permanence as method

Text arrives on the page with the weight of chiseled epigraphy, each heading a capstone placed atop an invisible lintel. There is zero softness. The site speaks in the present tense of structures that have simply refused to disappear.

Visitors are not greeted; they are confronted by mass.
