PlotGrapher

Map the shape of your narrative

What is PlotGrapher?

PlotGrapher is a narrative visualization tool for writers. Map your story's plot points as nodes in an interactive graph, showing connections between characters, events, locations, and themes. Watch as your narrative structure emerges visually.

See the hidden architecture of your story. Understand pacing, emotional arcs, and character interactions through the lens of connected networks.

How It Works

Create Nodes

Define plot points: characters, events, locations, and thematic elements. Each becomes a node in your narrative graph.

Connect Narratives

Draw edges between related nodes. Show how a character influences an event, or how a location connects themes. Edges represent causal and thematic relationships.

Visualize Structure

Watch as the graph arranges itself using force-directed physics. Nodes naturally cluster by relationship strength, revealing the hidden architecture of your plot.

Arc Analysis

Overlay emotional trajectory curves on your graph. See the ups and downs of your narrative pacing in real time.

Story Graph Example

Consider a mystery novel: Your protagonist (character node) investigates a crime (event node) at a mansion (location node). The gardener (character) has secrets (thematic node) connected to both the crime and the location. The graph shows these relationships, and immediately you see the structural weak points: maybe the gardener is too disconnected from other plot threads, or the climactic confrontation needs more foreshadowing nodes.
