descend into color, drift through light

The Reef Shelf

Where the shallows give way to structure. Coral towers rise in impossible geometries, each branch a cathedral of calcium and time. The water here is warm and thick with particulate gold, and every surface is colonized by something alive, something feeding, something building.

Where the light stops reaching, the colors begin their own conversation. Every depth has its dialect, every shadow its grammar of blue and violet.

The Deep Water

At this depth, pressure becomes a presence. The water is no longer a medium but a material -- dense, dark, alive with bioluminescent sparks that flicker at the periphery. Sound is different here. Movement is slower. Everything that survives this far down has learned to glow.
